August 10, 2005 - Wednesday - When installing things such as curtain rods, it sure would be nice if the screws used to mount them grabbed something other than sheet rock or the EPS of our ICF block. To that end we install "Grappler" plates where we think curtain rods will be mounted. These are expanded metal plates, which are available from Wind-Lock (for who we are a dealer), push easily into our ICF blocks and are simply covered by the sheet rock. What a neat idea! In this picture you can see that we have installed two Grappler plates next to each other on each side of this window. We install two plates to provide a longer area for mounting curtain rod hardware. August 10, 2005 - Wednesday - Sheet rock installation is complete in the master bedroom. Remember however that all the seams between sheets still need to be "mud and taped". Lots more work ahead! August 12, 2005 - Friday - Sheet rock all installed around the fireplace. August 12, 2005 - Friday - The arches turned out really great...so far! Here is a shot of the arch between the living room and the laundry room/garage/master bedroom. |
