March 20, 2006 - Monday - Tiling continues this week. Here we see the front entry area with its protective coating of RedGard already applied. March 23, 2006 - Thursday - Today we saw the install crew from Contour Countertops and they did a great job installing our Zodiaq quartz countertops! Here we see the bar pushing out into the living room and the "wall cap" piece directly below the arch looking in to the kitchen. As a reminder, this color of Zodiaq is called "lunar pearl". March 23, 2006 - Thursday - This picture is a great shot of the new countertops in the kitchen. Nice! March 23, 2006 - Thursday - Here we see the other parts of the kitchen counters. The large space in between the cabinets is for the cooking stove or "range" as some call them. Because we build homes that we would like to live in, we install both an electrical outlet and a gas outlet at both the stove and clothes dryer locations. This way the owner can choose if they want a gas stove or an electric unit and the home is ready to go for either type! Same holds true for choosing a clothes dryer. Both the electrical outlet and the gas connection can clearly be seen in this picture in the space where the stove will go. We will install a gas stove since we believe this is a bit more "high end" than an electric model. Last the range hood which provides exhaust and lights is already installed above the stove location. We chose the "Allure" model range hood by Nutone this time around. Dual fans, dual lights, and made in Canada! March 23, 2006 - Thursday - A good picture of the guest bathroom. The new counter installation also included both bathrooms but for the bathrooms we chose the "cloud white" color of the quartz Zodiaq countertops. Looks like the grout work on the tile floor is also complete. Remember these tile floors will be nice and warm in winter thanks to our radiant floor heating! March 23, 2006 - Thursday - This shot shows the master bath looking very nice with its new countertop. March 23, 2006 - Thursday - This picture is taken from the living room looking toward the laundry room. We can see the tile grout work is complete. Notice we chose to extend the tile out from the laundry room so its in front of the door leading to the garage. March 23, 2006 - Thursday - We decided to use the stacks of bamboo flooring to as a work bench for putting the finish on our window sills. And a nice work bench those stacks of bamboo turned out to be! |
