July 18, 2005 - Monday - Sheet rocking continues, as it probably will for many
weeks to come. This picture shows the "green board" installed on the walls
and ceiling of the whirlpool tub alcove in the master bath. Green board is
a type of sheet rock that is moisture resistant. It should be installed in
locations that will regularly be exposed to moisture.
July 18, 2005 - Monday - This shot shows the green board installed above the
shower in the master bath. Again, an area that will regularly be exposed
to moisture.
July 19, 2005 - Tuesday - The ceiling sheet rock around the bar between the
kitchen and dining room is complete.
July 19, 2005 - Tuesday - Here is the completed ceiling in the dining area.
Notice the electrical box close to the beam. This will provide a place for
a chandelier to get its power without having the box visible from the main room.
July 19, 2005 - Tuesday - The ceiling of the master bath looks like it is
nearing completion. It may be important to note that "completion" here
means the sheet rock installation is complete, not the whole sheet rocking job.
After hanging the sheet rock, the whole home must be "mud and taped". If
you don't know what that is...stay tuned.
July 19, 2005 - Tuesday - Since Jeffrey is using very few sub contractors for
this home, the building process is taking quite a while. Jeffrey's wife
Carrie decided
she should be on site during the week from now on to help Jeffrey pick up the
pace. She is a tough Site Supervisor and has made it very clear that this is a
temporary assignment!
