July 20, 2004 - Tuesday - The Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) arrive! Staff
Member Mark Everson stands next to the shipment to give scale. Block comes
in different color bags to show what type of block it contains, blue for
straight block, green for 90 degree corners, and white for 45 degree corners.
July 21, 2004 - Wednesday - This shot shows the "T" wall between the garage and
the home. This picture also details our "UFR" which is the best type of
electrical grounding a home can have. The UFR is the large piece of rebar
sticking out of the footing. It is tied to the rebar in the footing and
will also be tied to the rebar in the walls. The electric service for the
home will use this as it's grounding point.
July 23, 2004 - Friday - Since we have homes to the West and South of our lot we
need to bring in a concrete pumper truck to pour our footings. Its not
such a bad thing since using the pumper is much easier than pouring footings
straight out of the concrete truck's chute. Much nicer but more expensive.
July 23, 2004 - Friday - The footing at the front of the home after the pour.
July 23, 2004 - Friday - The footing at the rear of the home after the pour.
July 23, 2004 - Friday - Another view of footings after the concrete pour.
